Short description

The antiqued version of Taverna: the same paver, tumbled after pressing so the edges and corners are worn. In grey, anthracite and brown.

Full description

Taverna Antik is Taverna put through a tumbling drum. The format and the colours are the same; what changes is the surface, which comes out with rounded edges and chipped corners, the way cobbles look after decades of use.

It costs more than the plain Taverna and it is worth it only where the aged look matters — courtyards of old houses, garden paths, restaurant terraces. For a clean modern surface, the standard Taverna is the same paver at a lower price.

Colour runs through the body, so the tumbling does not expose a pale core at the worn edges.

Key benefits

  • Tumbled surface with worn edges and corners
  • Vibro-pressed concrete, frost and de-icing salt resistant
  • Colour runs through the body of the paver
  • Same format as the standard Taverna, can be combined with it
  • Three colours: Grey, Anthracite, Brown
  • Matches the Leier kerb range for a complete edge detail

Recommendation

Lay on a compacted sub-base with a 3–5 cm bedding layer of grit. Because the edges are tumbled, the joints come out wider and more irregular than with a standard paver — use a jointing sand that will stay in place, and expect the finished surface to read as slightly rustic rather than perfectly aligned. Mix pavers from several pallets while laying. Order about 5% over the measured area.
