Everything that finishes a roof once the field tiles are laid. The ridge is where a tiled roof is most exposed and most often gets it wrong: a ridge laid dry without the right end caps and branches lets wind-driven rain straight into the structure.

Two ridge profiles: the large one for a bolder line, the classic one for a lower, traditional look. Both go three pieces to the linear metre. End caps close the run at each end, and the hip branch handles the point where three or four roof planes meet.

Available in natural fired clay and in black or brown engobe. The engobed versions cost more and are priced separately below.

Recommendation

Count the ridge before ordering: three pieces per linear metre, plus an end cap at each end and a branch at every hip junction. Order the ridge in the same colour as the field tile and from the same batch where you can — the ridge sits on the skyline and a mismatch shows from the street. Put snow guards above entrances, walkways and gutters, not along the whole roof; two per linear metre only where a sliding sheet would do damage.
