The special pieces that finish a Portugheza roof. Verge tiles close the gable edge in left and right versions, 3.1 pieces to the linear metre — note that the left and right pieces differ in size and weight on this profile, more than on the flat models.

The ventilation tile replaces a field tile. The under-ridge element fills the gap between the last course of tiles and the ridge, which on a deep-waved profile like this one is where wind-driven rain and snow otherwise get in.

Recommendation

On this profile the left and right verge tiles are noticeably different pieces — 4.5 kg against 3.4 — so measure each gable separately rather than doubling one number. Fit the under-ridge elements before the ridge goes on; retrofitting them means lifting the ridge again.
