Short description
Concrete masonry elements in three wall thicknesses: VF10 at 10 cm for partitions, NF25 and NF30 at 25 and 30 cm for load-bearing walls. Sold per piece.
Full description
Three blocks from the same family, and the wall thickness is what separates them by role.
VF10, 500 x 100 x 220 mm, is a partition block. At 10 cm it carries nothing but itself: it divides cellars, garages and outbuildings, closes off a space, and takes a plaster or a paint finish. 8.9 pieces per square metre of wall.
NF25 and NF30, 380 x 250 x 220 and 380 x 300 x 220 mm, are load-bearing. Leier rates them at a minimum 7.5 N/mm² compressive strength and lists them for basement walls, industrial and agricultural buildings, and boundary walls — the places where a wall carries a load but does not need to insulate. 11.7 pieces per square metre.
All three are laid in mortar like any masonry unit, and all three take reinforcement in the cavities where the design calls for it.
Key benefits
- Three wall thicknesses, from a 10 cm partition to a 30 cm load-bearing wall
- NF25 and NF30: minimum 7.5 N/mm² compressive strength
- Vibro-pressed concrete, dimensionally stable
- Hollow, so the wall weighs less and takes reinforcement where needed
- For cellars, garages, outbuildings, basement walls and boundary walls
- Takes plaster directly, no preparation coat

Recommendation
Do not substitute one thickness for another to save money: VF10 is a partition block and will not carry a floor, and a wall that has to hold back earth or take a load needs the thickness and the reinforcement the structural design gives it. Lay the first course on a levelled, damp-proofed footing. Keep the joints full — a hollow block wall loses strength quickly where the mortar is skipped. Order about 5% over the measured area, for cuts at openings and for spares.
