Short description

Split-face concrete cladding, 60 mm thick, in 400 x 200 and 200 x 200 mm, four colours. Gives an existing wall or pillar the Arhitektur face.

Full description

The cladding element is the Arhitektur face without the block behind it: a 60 mm plate, glued to a wall that is already standing.

That covers two cases. One is renovation — an old plastered fence or a concrete pillar that should match a new Arhitektur run. The other is new work where the structure is poured or blockwork and only the visible face needs to be Arhitektur, which is cheaper per square metre than building the whole thickness out of fence blocks.

The large plate follows the 400 x 200 mm module of the fence block, the small one the 200 x 200 mm module of the column, so the joints line up with a wall built from the full blocks.

Key benefits

  • Same split-stone face and colours as the Arhitektur blocks
  • Only 60 mm thick — clads an existing wall or pillar
  • Two modules, matching the fence block and the column block
  • Frost and de-icing salt resistant
  • 12.5 pieces/m² for the large plate, 25 pieces/m² for the small one
  • Colour runs through the plate

Recommendation

Cladding is only as sound as what it is stuck to: check that the existing wall is stable, clean and free of loose plaster before you start, and use a frost-resistant exterior adhesive, not interior tile glue. Set out the courses dry first, so the joints land where you want them at corners and at the top. Leave a movement joint where the cladding meets a different material.
