Short description

Fired clay barrel roof tile in two sizes, 300 and 350 mm. Minimum pitch 18°. Sold by the square metre.

Full description

Andalusia is a barrel tile — the half-round olane of southern Europe, laid in alternating courses of channel and cover. It is the most labour-intensive roof in the range and the most distinctive; nothing else gives that rhythm of light and shadow across a slope.

Made in Sighișoara, at the only ceramic roof tile factory left in Romania, as part of the range kept for restoring churches and listed buildings.

Key benefits

  • Fired clay — colour that does not fade and a surface that does not chalk
  • Freeze-thaw resistant, minimum 300 cycles
  • Impermeability category 1
  • Two sizes, 300 and 350 mm
  • Follows curved and irregular roofs without cutting
  • Sold by the square metre, as a roof is measured

Recommendation

A barrel roof takes more labour than any other profile here — budget for it, because the tile price is the smaller half of the cost. Check the pitch: at least 18°, and below that no amount of underlay makes it watertight. Order about 5% over the measured area, and more on a curved or broken roof, where the waste rate climbs.
