Short description

Castrum concrete pavers with a tumbled, antiqued surface, in five warm colours. Available in 40 and 60 mm, for terraces, courtyards and driveways.

Full description

Castrum is the antiqued range in the Leier Kaiserstein family. The edges and corners are tumbled after pressing, so a freshly laid surface already has the softened look of old cobbles rather than the sharp lines of a new paver.

Five colours — Anthracite Smoke, Chestnut, Fuoco, Shell and Sepia — each mixed through the body of the paver, so wear and chipping do not expose a different colour underneath.

The 40 mm thickness is for terraces, garden paths and pedestrian areas. The 60 mm is for driveways and areas with car traffic. Both are laid on the same bedding build-up.

Key benefits

  • Tumbled, antiqued surface with softened edges
  • Vibro-pressed concrete, frost and de-icing salt resistant
  • Colour runs through the body of the paver
  • Two thicknesses: 40 mm for pedestrian, 60 mm for vehicles
  • Five colours, combinable in the same surface
  • Matches the Leier kerb range for a complete edge detail

Recommendation

Lay on a compacted sub-base with a 3–5 cm bedding layer of sharp sand or grit. Choose 60 mm wherever cars will drive or park; 40 mm is for pedestrian areas only. Mix pavers from several pallets while laying, so the colour variation is spread evenly across the surface. Set the kerb line first, then close the paving against it. Order about 5% over the measured area, for cuts at edges and for spares.
